Rune Sølvsteen is a strategic thought leader on how companies can use connectivity & new media to grow. Combining his broad online, e-commerce & marketing experience from Nike &Google with his strategic vision gained at Bain & Company, Rune works closely with CEO’s, company founders & management teams who want to become online leaders in their field.

Today Rune works as co-founder at Defacto Partners, a company specialized in strategy advice for consumer companies in the areas of Internet, eCommerce, Online Marketing, Social Media & Multi-Channel Retailing. Previous to establishing Defacto Partners, Rune worked as Industry Leader Retail & Board member at Google Benelux with responsibility for the sales to and guidance off the retail sector. A role where he worked intensively with the largest retailers in The Netherlands, advising them on marketing strategies & their implementation.

Rune was also part of the founding team who set up e-Commerce for Nike in 21 European countries. He also served as Regional Marketing Director by Nike EMEA where he was responsible for the marketing of both NikeStore&NIKEiD in 21 European countries.Rune holds an MBA from INSEAD and has earlier worked as Strategy Consultant by Bain & Company. He speaks English, Dutch & Danish.

Also, Rune has been teaching Digital Marketing & e-Commerce (postdoc) and Customer Experience & Multichannel Management (postdoc) at Beeckestijn Business School.
